Nurses new to practice are a valuable addition to our team of caregivers. When you choose to join the HFSC nursing staff in your first year of nursing, our Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program (NRP)™ gives you the support and clinical training to successfully transition from the classroom to the bedside. Our NRP focuses on the professional practice of nursing using professional development, clinical leadership and quality patient outcomes. This one-year curriculum provides a nurturing and supportive learning environment to grow your career as a highly skilled nurse and strengthen competencies such as collaboration, communication and delegation during your first year of practice.
We’ll provide you a solid foundation for your career through real-world applications, simulations, case studies and more, Curricula includes skills that are challenging to navigate such as ethics, communication, prioritization and organization. You will also complete and implement an evidence-based project that will strengthen critical thinking by enhancing decision-making and clinical judgment.
You’ll gain clinical experience with mentored relationships and debriefing conversations with NRP coordinators and facilitators. You will also receive intentional guidance on creating a professional development plan to identify individual growth opportunities.
